Abie Longstaff grew up in Australia, Hong Kong, and France as the eldest of six children. She began her job as a barrister because she knew all about arguing and bossing around younger sisters. When her children were born, she began writing. The Fairytale Hairdresser series and The Magic Potions Store novels are among her works. Her work is heavily influenced by fairy tales and mythology, which she has loved since she was a child.
The Trapdoor Mysteries were inspired by Abie's parents' house in France. The home is large and historic, with several rooms and outbuildings. A secret entrance is located in a fireplace in one of the bedrooms. It leads to a place where the French Resistance met during WWII.
It was a fantastic idea for a book!
