  Aeschylus

In 525 BC, Aeschylus was born into a rich family near Athens. He fought in the Persian Wars, and according to his inscription, he died at Marathon. Only seven of his plays, The Supplicants, The Persians, Seven Against Thebes, Prometheus Bound, Agamemnon, The Libation Bearers, and The Eumenides, have survived, all translated for Penguin Classics.
