Allison Kave is the owner of the Lower East Side's made-to-order pie shop First Prize Pies. She and her boyfriend, Keavy Blueher, opened Butter & Scotch, a dessert and cocktail bar in Brooklyn, in 2012. She's taught pie cooking at the French Culinary School and the James Beard Institute, among other places.
