American K Club

The American Kennel Club is the largest dog organization in the United States, having been founded in 1884. Each year, the AKC registers about one million dogs. Each year, it hosts over 22,000 sanctioned events, including confirmation shows, agility sports, hunting and field competitions, obedience trials, and much more. Affiliate clubs and programs like the Canine Good Citizen program and the STAR Puppy program teach dogs and puppies how to be well-behaved, content canines that respect their owners and are fun to be around.
