Anita Barrows, a prize-winning poet and clinical psychologist, is the author of four collections of poetry and the recipient of an NEA award as well as the Contemporary Poetry Award from the Quarterly Review of Literature. Joanna Macy is a scholar of systems theory and Buddhist thought, as well as a German student, with over thirty years of experience as a professional translator. She is also a spiritual teacher and an ecologist who has talked about ecology and spirituality at the White House.
