Anita Moorjani was born in Singapore to Indian parents and migrated to Hong Kong when she was two years old. She has spent the majority of her life in Hong Kong. She is multilingual as a result of her British upbringing and schooling, and she grew up speaking English, Cantonese, and an Indian dialect all at the same time; she later learnt French at school. Before being diagnosed with cancer in April 2002, Anita had spent several years working in the corporate world. Her interesting and dramatic near-death experience in early 2006 profoundly affected her view on life, and the depths and insights she obtained while in the other realm are now imprinted in her work. Anita is frequently invited to speak at conferences and events throughout the world to share her views as a result of her near-death experience.
She also speaks on issues like dealing with terminal illness, facing death, and the psychology of spiritual beliefs at the University of Hong Kong's department of behavioral sciences on a regular basis. She embodies the notion that we all possess the inner strength and wisdom to overcome even life's most difficult challenges, as she is living proof of this capability. Anita and her husband currently reside in Hong Kong, where she works as an intercultural consultant for multinational firms based in the city when she is not traveling or speaking at conferences. www.anitamoorjani.com is her website.
