Anna Mcquinn

Anna McQuinn was born and raised in Kerry County. Her maternal grandpa used to be a cattle drover, and his tiny restaurant attracted many old 'friends from all over the country.' She grew up in the small town of Castleisland, in the middle of Kerry Dairy country, and is old enough to remember the old Fair days there - her maternal grandfather used to be a cattle drover, and his small restaurant attracted many old 'friends from all over the country. Anna spent many hours with her father, who grew up on a small dairy farm, helping his brother with milking and making silage. Anna attended a small two-teacher national school three miles outside of town, where her father was a teacher. Anna read English and History at UCC, then went on to study for her H Dip (specialising in Children's Literature) while working as an English teacher in Cork. She left her full-time publishing career in 2003 to devote more time to writing, and she has since published over 20 books. She currently spends her time researching book ideas, writing short tales, and working with children, all of which nourishes her writing.
