Imperial Hubris, a New York Times and Washington Post best-seller, was first published anonymously, as mandated by the Central Intelligence Agency. Michael Scheuer, the former head of the CIA's Bin Laden Unit who left in November 2004 after two decades of experience in national security concerns relating to Afghanistan and south Asia, is the book's author. He is also the author of Through Our Enemies' Eyes: Osama bin Laden, Radical Islam, and the Future of America, which he wrote as Anonymous. Scheuer has appeared on numerous national and international television news programs, has been interviewed for broadcast and documentary media, and has been the subject of worldwide print media.
