Arkady Ostrovsky is a Russian-born journalist who has worked in Moscow for the past fifteen years, first for the Financial Times and subsequently as bureau director for The Economist. He earned his Ph.D. after studying Russian theater history in Moscow. Cambridge University offers a master's degree in English literature. Tom Stoppard's trilogy The Coast of Utopia, which he translated, was published and produced in Russia. Morning Edition, CNN, the BBC, and Sky News have all featured him. The Creation of Russia was named a Financial Times Book of the Year and awarded the Orwell Prize.
