Barbara M Walker
When Barbara Walker's daughter, Anna, was four years old and interested in serial stories and kitchen crafts, she came upon the Little House series. After a family excursion west via some Little House locations, what began as a fun diversion--recreating frontier food--became a serious study for the author. The Little House Cookbook was the result of eight years of sporadic reading, writing, and testing. Anna is now married and lives in her own modest house. Barbara Walker continues to write on a range of topics from her home outside of Ossining, New York, which she shares with her husband. She laments the loss of lard piecrust, hard cheese, and sausage from her diet, but finds comfort in baking bread with her sourdough starter.
