Bessel van der Kolk, M.D., is the founder and medical director of the Brookline, Massachusetts-based Trauma Center. He is also the director of the National Complex Trauma Treatment Network and a professor of psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. van der Kolk works and lives in Boston when he is not teaching around the world.
