Brian Fies is a writer and cartoonist whose critically praised first graphic novel, Mom's Cancer, received the Eisner Award for Outstanding Digital Comic (the first web comic to win the award in this new category), the Lulu Blooker Prize for Best Comic, the Harvey Award for Best New Talent, and the German Children's Literary Award, among other honors and accolades. He resides in the city of Santa Rosa, California.
