Bryan  Ballinger

Bryan Ballinger earned a bachelor's degree in illustration from Columbus College of Art and Design in 1990. He has a master's degree in children's writing from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He began working for Microsoft as an illustrator after arriving to Seattle in 1991 and doing freelance work for clients such as Nintendo Power magazine. He was the principal illustrator for both the award-winning Encarta CD-ROM encyclopedia and the Explorapedia children's encyclopedia series. Bryan worked at Big Idea Productions, the makers of the VeggieTales children's videos, for 5 years as the 3D Design Lead.

Bryan is also a lecturer at Huntington University in Indiana, where he teaches Digital Media Arts. Bryan creates illustrations for children's books, websites, games, films, and advertisements, among other things. Animal Gas, a whimsical scratch-and-sniff children's picture book, is also written and illustrated by him.
