Candace Dempsey

Candace Dempsey is an award-winning Italian-American journalist, travel writer, and author of Murder in Italy, the true story of Amanda Knox, an American college student who was wrongfully accused of murdering her British roommate. Dempsey, who is based in Seattle, has written for publications such as the New York Times, Slate, MSN, the Chicago Tribune, the Boston Phoenix, Art & Antiques, and many others. She has worked as a magazine editor, a newspaper editor, a staff writer, and an MSN producer, editor, and writer. Her travel stories have appeared in a number of anthologies published by Travelers' Tales and Seal Press. She has a master's degree in journalism and was a graduate teaching fellow at the University of Oregon.
