Carl Deuker has written eight popular young adult sports novels, six of which have been published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. Gym Candy, his most recent novel, was named a Texas Lone Star title, while Runner, his previous novel, was a Booklist Top 10 Sports Book. He and his family reside in Seattle, Washington.
