Cecil Blanche Woodman-Smith was a British historian and the author of popular Victorian-era history novels such as The Great Hunger, Queen Victoria, The Reason Why, and Thin Men of Hadda. In 1960, she was made a CBE, and she was awarded honorary doctorates from the National University of Ireland and the University of St. Andrews. Andrews, who passed away in 1977.
