Charles P Wohlforth

Charles Wohlforth, an Alaska native, has spent more than 20 years as a journalist and novelist writing about his home state. He is the author of several publications, including Wiley's Frommer's Alaska. Wohlforth's book The Whale and the Supercomputer: On the Northern Front of Climate Change (North Point Press) won widespread acclaim and multiple accolades for its exploration of how Inupiat Eskimos and scientists are learning about -- and responding to -- global warming in the Arctic. Wohlforth and his wife, Barbara, live in Anchorage with their sons, Robin and Joseph, and daughters, Julia and Rebecca. He invites readers to visit his website, www.wohlforth.net, for further essays and travel information about Alaska, as well as helpful resources for planning a trip. Jerry Brown and Fran Wenograd Golden collected and wrote the cruise coverage for Alaska For Beginners, 3rd Edition.
