Charles Santore

The acclaimed illustrations of Charles Santore have been widely displayed in museums and honored with awards such as the coveted Hamilton King Award, the Society of Illustrators Award of Merit, and the Society of Illustrators Original Art 2000 Gold Medal. Santore is most known for his dazzling renditions of traditional children's stories like as Snow White, The Night Before Christmas, and Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's Paul Revere's Ride, which won the Bank Street College Children's Book Committee's 2004 Children's Book of the Year for Poetry. His paintings for The Wizard of Oz, widely regarded as the definitive illustrated version, were utilized as scenic backdrops for a big television production of the play.
