Clair Davies, NCTMB (Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork), was a pain specialist who specialized in trigger point therapy. Davies became interested in massage after successfully treating a stiff shoulder with trigger point massage on his own. He began a private study of trigger points and associated pain after being inspired by the event. He then left a profitable piano service business to pursue a career as a licensed massage therapist at the Utah College of Massage Therapy. Davies traveled widely with his daughter Amber from his home base in Lexington, Kentucky, delivering continuing education programs for professionals on trigger point massage. Clair Davies died of colorectal cancer peacefully at home in 2006.
