Claire Dederer's essays, criticism, and reporting have appeared in Vogue, The New York Times, Slate, Salon, Yoga Journal, Real Simple, The Nation, and other publications across the United States. She has worked as a writing instructor at the University of Washington. She is a fourth-generation Seattle resident who currently resides on Bainbridge Island in Puget Sound with her family.
