Coe Booth was born and reared in New York City's Bronx. Tyrell, Kendra, Bronxwood, and Almost like Brothers are her books. She currently works as a full-time writer and part-time writing teacher at Vermont College of Fine Arts in the Bronx. Booth also coaches teen writers as part of the NAACP's ACT-SO program.
