Cynthia Levinson

Cynthia Levinson uses words to tell actual stories about brave people like Ben Shahn and the injustices they've endured because she can't sketch or paint. She enjoys doing research, which has allowed her to visit Shahn's workshop as well as walk alongside civil rights foot soldiers, fall off a tightwire, and read letters held in a condemned building encircled by yellow police tape. Cynthia's children's books have won numerous accolades. She splits her time between Austin and Boston.
