Dan Rather is an American journalist and former CBS Evening News news anchor. He has covered a range of historical events, including President John F. Kennedy's assassination, and is known as the hardest working man in broadcast journalism. The civil rights movement; the wars in Vietnam, Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf, and Iraq; the September 11th terrorist assaults; and many more. He has won a number of Emmy Awards and seven Peabody Awards.
