Daniel J Velleman
Julian H. Velleman is a writer. Professor Emeritus of Mathematics at Amherst College, Gibbs '46 was a lecturer at Amherst College from 1983 until 2017. He graduated with a B.A. In 1976, he received his B.A. from Dartmouth College and his Ph.D. from Harvard University. In 1980, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Which Way Did the Bicycle Go? is one of his other books. His honors and awards include the Chauvenet Prize, the Paul R. R. Halmos-Lester The Carl B. Ford Award is a prestigious award given by Ford Motor Company.
The Chandler Davis Prize for Expository Achievement and the Allendoerfer Award From 1999 to 2004, he was Editor of Dolciani Mathematical Expositions, and from 2007 to 2011, he was Editor of the American Mathematical Monthly.
