Dave Hoover

Dave Hoover is the Chief Craftsman at Obtiva, where he assists in the management of the company's Software Studio and apprenticeship program. Since 2000, when he quit a profession in child and family counseling, Dave has been designing software. Dave reframed his perspective of software development and how people become outstanding software engineers after reading Pete McBreen's Software Craftsmanship in 2002. Dave has developed a strong interest in learning and has devoted several years of his professional life to researching, writing, and lecturing on apprenticeship. On most days during the previous couple of years, you could find Dave developing Ruby and Rails as the principal developer at Mad Mimi, one of his Obtiva clients. Dave is also a big fan of endurance sports.
