David  Halberstam

David Halberstam was a well-known journalist and historian in the United States. He covered the beginnings of the Civil Rights movement after graduating from Harvard in 1955, and then was dispatched overseas by the New York Times to cover the Vietnam War. He received the Pulitzer Prize for his Vietnam reporting at the age of thirty. He is the author of fifteen best-selling books, including The Best and the Brightest. On April 23, 2007, he was murdered in a car accident while on his way to an interview for his next book.
