Professor Emeritus of Immunology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, David McKean, PhD. He authored 134 peer-reviewed research papers over his thirty years as a National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded investigator on the Mayo Clinic research staff, and he was actively involved in PhD and MD-PhD education programs as a student mentor and administrator. Dean of the Mayo Graduate School, Chair of the Mayo Immunology Department, and member of the Admissions Committee for both the Mayo Graduate School PhD program and the Mayo MD-PhD program were among his academic administration responsibilities. He also served as a reviewer for Howard Hughes Foundation, American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, and National Institutes of Health graduate and postgraduate fellowship applications, as well as faculty research grants.
