David S Weissbrodt

David Weissbrodt is the Regents Professor and Fredrikson & Byron Professor of Law at the University of Minnesota Law School. He is a world-renowned scholar and teacher of international human rights law. He is the author of 200 articles, books, and monographs. In 2001 Weissbrodt served as the
first United States citizen since Eleanor Roosevelt to head a United Nations human rights body when he was elected as chairperson for the U.N. Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights. For 2000-2003 the Sub-Commission also designated Weissbrodt the U.N. Special Rapporteur on
the rights of non-citizens.
