David Tanis

David Tanis has been a professional chef for over three decades and is the author of several critically praised cookbooks, including A Plate of Figs and Other Recipes, which was named one of the 50 finest cookbooks of all time by the Guardian/Observer (UK), and Heart of the Artichoke, which was nominated for a James Beard Award. Tanis lives in Manhattan and has been writing the New York Times' Food section's weekly City Kitchen piece for nearly six years.
