Deborah Donnelly is the daughter of a sea captain who grew up in Panama, Cape Cod, and everywhere in between. She's worked as a nanny, an executive speechwriter, a university librarian, and a science fiction writer. Donnelly, a lifelong resident of Seattle and a breast cancer survivor, now resides in Portland, Oregon.
