Diomidis Spinellis

Professor Diomidis Spinellis of AUEB's Department of Management Science and Technology has given a presentation on the book's contents to the university's International MBA program. He has also worked for Google as a senior software engineer for site dependability, served as the Secretary General for Information Systems at the Greek Ministry of Finance, and provided consulting services to Fortune 500 organizations. He graduated from Imperial College London with an MEng in Software Engineering and a PhD in Computer Science. In Addison-Wesley's Effective Programming Series, Spinellis has produced two award-winning, extensively translated books on code reading and code quality, as well as more than 200 technical papers in journals and refereed conference proceedings that have earned thousands of citations. The main page of the IEEE flagship publication Spectrum included his piece on the Greek wiretapping case. He is a member of the IEEE Software magazine editorial board, where he writes the Tools of the Trade section on a regular basis.
