Donella H Meadows

Donella Meadows was a scientist, author, teacher, and farmer who was widely regarded as ahead of her time in the 1970s because of her groundbreaking work. She was a leading systems analyst and co-author of the influential Limits to Growth, a 1972 book about global population, economics, and environmental trends that was translated into 28 languages and became an international bestseller. That book sparked a global discussion about the earth's ability to support continuous human development and expansion. Beyond the Limits, a follow-up study she and co-authors Dennis Meadows and Jorgen Randers reported on twenty years later, and Limits to Growth: The 30-Year Update, a final revision of their research, was published in 2004.
