E W Budge
Sir Ernest Alfred Thompson Wallis Budge (27 July 1857 – 23 November 1934) was an Egyptologist, Orientalist, and philologist who worked for the British Museum and wrote a number of works on the ancient Near East. He traveled to Egypt and Sudan on behalf of the British Museum to purchase antiquities and assist in the development of the museum's collection of cuneiform tablets, manuscripts, and papyri. He wrote a number of Egyptology books, which helped to disseminate the results to a wider audience. He was knighted in 1920 for his contributions to Egyptology and the British Museum.
