Elaine Lee has worked as an EMMY-nominated actress and playwright, the creative director of a theatrical firm (Wild Hair Productions), a comic book writer and colorist, an animation writer and story editor, a video game writer and director of motion capture, an art director for a music company, a co-author of a humorous self-help book, and a writer/producer for AudioComics (formerly Pocket Universe Product). Elaine has written for a variety of titles, including Indiana Jones, Prince Valiant, and Ragman, and has produced six original comic series (BrainBanx, Skin Tight Orbit, The Transmutation of Ike Garuda). She is best known as the writer/creator of Vamps (for DC/Vertigo, with artist Will Simpson) and Starstruck (for Heavy Metal, Marvel, Dark Horse, and IDW, with artist Michael Kaluta).
