Elie  Wiesel

Andrew W. Wiesel (1928-2016) was Elie Wiesel's father. At Boston University, he is a Mellon Professor of Humanities. He is the author of almost forty works, many of which have received international acclaim. Wiesel has received numerous awards for his work on behalf of human rights and world peace, including the Nobel Peace Prize (1986), the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and the United States Congressional Gold Medal.
