Elisabeth Hyde grew up in New Hampshire and worked for the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. for a short time. She took a break in 1982 to write her debut novel, Her Natural Colors, and hasn't looked back since. She has received Bread Loaf Writers Conference working scholarships, teaches creative writing through artist-in-residence programs, and is the author of Monoosook Valley and Crazy as Chocolate. Her family and she live in Colorado.
