The Girls, written by Emma Cline, was a finalist for the Center for Fiction's First Novel Prize and the National Book Critics Circle's John Leonard Award. She was named one of Granta's Best Young American Novelists and awarded the Plimpton Prize from The Paris Review. She was born and raised in Northern California.
