Erik Palmer
Erik Palmer is a Denver, Colorado-based educational consultant. Nonetheless, he did not begin his career as an educational consultant. Erik dropped out of law school to pursue a career in commodity brokerage. He ran a retail brokerage firm before forming a trading company and taking it public. He obtained a seat on the Chicago floor of the Mid-America Commodities Exchange and worked as a floor broker for a while.
When Erik's children were born, he left the brokerage world and entered the education world, but he brought with him the notion that education must be relevant outside the classroom. How much of what we teach is forgotten or abandoned once kids have graduated from high school? He emphasized the importance of speaking well in all subject areas he taught because he witnessed the great influence it had in his classroom and because it is a life-long talent. When I had the chance to integrate new technologies in the classroom, I jumped at the chance, says Erik.

He emphasized the importance of speaking well in all subject areas he taught because he witnessed the great influence it had in his classroom and because it is a life-long talent. When I had the chance to integrate new technologies in the classroom, I jumped at the chance, says Erik.
They assisted me in establishing a connection with the kids, increasing my 'with-it-ness,' fostering relevance, and improving instruction. As a consultant, I now work with teachers to share the accomplishments I've had in those areas.Erik graduated from Oberlin College with a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from the University of Colorado. Before becoming a consultant, he worked as a classroom teacher for twenty-one years. Erik enjoys baseball and riding his bike in his spare time, and his areas of expertise include increasing oral communication and modernizing education to incorporate twenty-first-century tools.
He is the father of two sons and the stepfather of three children. His wife is a fourth-grade teacher.
