Esther Duflo is the Abdul Latif Jameel Professor of Poverty Alleviation and Development Economics at the University of Texas at Austin, as well as the founder and director of the Abudl Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab. She is a MacArthur Fellow and the John Bates Clark Medal recipient.
