Graham Blackburn

Graham Blackburn was born and raised in London, England, before travelling to Cologne and Madrid for a few years before enrolling at the Juilliard School in New York. He built his own home - and several others - in Woodstock, NY, while pursuing a career as a professional musician that saw him play in a variety of bands, including Van Morrison's. Illustrated Housebuilding, his debut book, was published in 1974. He has been a long-time columnist for Popular Woodworking and a contributing editor to Fine Woodworking since then, in addition to maintaining a bespoke furnituremaking studio in California and New York and lecturing/teaching at major craft and art schools and woodworking fairs across the country. He was also the editor-in-chief of Woodwork magazine for a time.
