Harvey Dorfman has worked as a teacher, counselor, coach, and consultant in the fields of education and psychology. Dorfman joined the Scott Boras Corporation, which represents professional baseball players, as a full-time consultant in sport psychology and staff development in 1999. Harvey has also worked as a freelance journalist, with pieces appearing in publications such as The New York Times, Boston Globe, Miami Herald, and Los Angeles Times. He authored a weekly piece called Miscellany for the Rutland Herald for eight years while teaching in Vermont. PRO, a quarterly magazine for elite athletes, published his Mind Game section. Dorfman gives talks on psychology, self-improvement, management tactics, and leadership training at major colleges and organizations.
