Hal Abelson

Harold (Hal) Abelson, an MIT professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, has long been interested in teaching with computing as a conceptual framework. He was a founding director of Creative Commons and Public Knowledge, and has played a vital role in establishing MIT's institutional educational technology project. Written with Andrea diSessa in 1981, Hal's book Turtle Geometry provided a computational method to geometry that has been recognized as the first step in a revolution in the entire teaching/learning process.
