Hugh D Young

Hugh D. Young is a Carnegie Mellon University Emeritus Professor of Physics. That university was where he received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. He graduated with a Ph.D. Under the leadership of the late Richard Cutkosky, I studied fundamental particle theory. He was also a visiting professor at the University of California, Berkeley, on two occasions.

Dr. Young's whole career has been dedicated to undergraduate education. He has coauthored several college textbooks with Francis Sears and Mark Zemansky, including their well-known introductory texts. He is also the author of Sears and Zemansky's University Physics, in addition to his work on Sears and Zemansky's College Physics.
