Bello Ignacio

Ignacio Bello received a B.A. from the University of South Florida (USF). and a master's degree in mathematics In 1967, he began teaching at USF, and in 1971, he joined the Hillsborough Community College (HCC) faculty as the Math and Sciences Department Coordinator. Professor Bello established the USF/HCC remedial program, which developed from 17 students attending Intermediate Algebra to over 800 students taking Developmental English, Reading, and Mathematics courses. Professor Bello is the author of more than 40 textbooks, including Topics in Modern Mathematics (ninth edition), College Algebra, Algebra and Trigonometry, and Business Mathematics, in addition to the current series of publications (Basic College Mathematics, Introductory Algebra, and Intermediate Algebra).

Many of these textbooks are now available in Spanish. Bello co-founded the Algebra Hotline with Professor Fran Hopf, Florida's only live, college-level television tutoring program. Professor Bello appears in Read More chevron_right
