ITALO CALVINO (1923-1985) was regarded as one of the best storytellers of the twentieth century. He was born in Cuba and raised in San Remo, Italy, before moving to Turin, Paris, Rome, and other cities. Invisible Cities, If on a winter's night a traveler, The Baron in the Woods, and other novels, as well as other collections of fiction, folktales, criticism, and essays, are among his many works.
