Jackie French AM is an award-winning author, wombat negotiator, Australian Children's Laureate for 2014-2015, and 2015 Senior Australian of the Year. Jackie was awarded the Order of Australia in 2016 for her contributions to children's books and support for young literacy. She is considered one of Australia's most popular children's authors and writes in a variety of genres, including picture books, history, fantasy, ecology, and sci-fi, as well as her much-loved historical fiction for a wide range of ages.
