Jane Roberts (May 8, 1929 – September 5, 1984) was born in Saratoga Springs, New York, and graduated from Skidmore College. When she began receiving communications from a non-physical energy personality named Seth in 1963, she was a prolific writer in a number of genres, including poetry, children's literature, and fiction. Robert F., her spouse, Butts, an artist and writer, taped the messages, and the two of them dedicated their lives to bringing Seth's lessons to the public. The Seth Books are now known around the world for containing one of the most profound sets of writing on the true nature of reality ever published. They've become classics in the disciplines of psychology and personal development, and they're credited with being one of the driving forces behind the New Age philosophy movement in the 1970s.
