Janice Udry

Mrs. Udry's debut book, A Tree Is Lovely, earned the 1957 Caldecott Medal for the most excellent American picture book, and was illustrated by Marc Simont. Mrs. Udry is also the author of Glenda, Let's Be Enemies, Mary Ann's Mud Day, The Mean Mouse and Other Mean Tales, and Thump and Plunk (all of which were drawn by Maurice Sendak).
