Jaroslav Pelikan is the inaugural John W. Sterling Professor of History at Yale University and the Sterling Professor of History Emeritus. The Library of Congress has a Kluge Scholar. He has won scores of honors and medals over his remarkable career, including 42 honorary degrees. He has written approximately forty novels and edited a number of others.
