As a writer and producer for Hill Street Blues, Jeffrey Lewis earned two Emmys and numerous other awards. His Meritocracy Quartet is meant to chart a generation's progress. Meritocracy: A Love Story, the first book in the quartet, won the Independent Publishers Book Award for General Fiction as well as the ForeWord Book of the Year Silver Award for Fiction. He splits his time between LA and Castine, Maine.
